Nursery – Legacy Highland Park Crib
Undeniably Geetha and I have been swamped and focused on work for the past several weeks, so it was comforting this weekend when we finally found furniture for the Nursery that we both loved, that was local enough to be delivered.
We had been looking at a small Massachusetts based furniture store called Jordans, which had a nice selection of fairly high-end cribs… and had actually debated driving the furniture back from Natick or Nashua… So when we were at Kid’s Town in South Burlington, we were very happy to stumble upon a crib set that we both really liked that could be delivered right to our door…
We selected a crib systems that’s called “Built to Grow,” or some derivative of that phrase, which basically means that the crib converts from a standing crib, to a toddler day-bed, to a full-size headboard and footboard. In our attempts to be relatively frugal, we felt that if we were going to spend this much on a crib, it should be able to last beyond the infant/toddler phase… We’ll see.
We also spent a quite a bit of time trying to select a crib set… there are way too many to pick from, and Geetha and I generally have somewhat disparate tastes… fortunately as we were surfing last night we found this set which we both could agree on and promptly ordered it… It’s called “Dragonfly Dreams,” and seems gender neutral enough for a little boy or girl…
Oh, by the way, neither of these images are of our actually nursery… both the items are on order, and we’ll post more pictures of them when they are in place… right now our nursery looks like this:

Very nice!! I was surprised at the wood furniture, I thought you were leaning towards black. Like the bedding too. Good choices!

Hello there Diane!! We were leaning toward “Espresso” and the fact that I know what that color is scares me a little bit… Glad to know someone is looking at this site from time to time! It’s inspiring to write more! Talk with you soon.

Very good selection. I love it. Hope to see the pics after your nursery arrangement is done. I find the bedding color is a bit unique in kids category. Nice choice.

Vanathi,
Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully soon we’ll be able to post more pictures of the Nursery as it encroaches completion. We also have a contractor coming in to give us estimates on finishing our basement, that will be a big project and will have lots of pictures…
Not knowing the gender of the baby is fun, but it does make picking out a color scheme a bit more difficult!
