Ireland Trip: Arrival
We had pre-booked a room at the Temple Gate Hotel knowing that after a near 12 hours of flight time we’d probably be a bit beat. It didn’t help matters that construction in Ennis made finding the Hotel nearly impossible, and added perhaps another hour and a half onto what should have been a quick 12km drive from the airport… :-) After a brief nap and a quick shower we made our way down to the Hotel Pub for a very hearty cutlery lunch and FINALLY my first real pint in 12 years…
I don’t care how well it travels, or how good the nitrogen system is in any bar in the US, if you like Guinness, you’ll love Guinness on it’s native soil.
Suprisingly Geetha too hoisted her first Irish Guinness, washing down the standard Irish sides of Champ, Cabbage and Carrots that would become her staple diet of the next two weeks.
