February 13, 14, 15… Travel & Arrival
Very long which, well, is unavoidable! I departed Burlington at 2pm on Friday the 13th, and arrived in Chennai just about 24 hours later, however given the time difference, I arrived at midnight February 15th. The easy way for you all in Eastern Standard to tell what time it is in Chennai is to: Swap the AM/PM, and then subtract 1.5 hours, so: 10:30PM EST, would be 9AM in Chennai…Hmm…seems like I could program that and put it on the webpage… :-)
Customs were no problem, and in relatively short order I had my luggage. Geetha and Usha were awaiting me upon arrival in Chennai, and let me tell ya, a fairly modicum guy such as myself could get very used to being greeted at airports by two beautiful woman bearing gifts! I am kicking myself for not taking a picture of those two!
All booked into the Chola, which as I have not left my room since arrival I can’t speak much about. My rooms are amazing, large, very comfortable, and in American $$$ very affordable. (I feel I have to mention this only, because of the standard familial reaction I get when I say I’m staying in a Suite.)
This Album is small, only a few pics of my room, and the view I have from my window. I have also taken a picture of all the wonderful gifts I was present from my Saali(s), all of which were wonderful, but the best of which was a very gracious card welcoming me both to Chennai and into the family…
